Teaching Impressionism in History

Happy Monday!! I would like to simulate a trip to an art museum as a part of an Impressionism in the late 19th century unit the art teacher and I will be team teaching. I am thinking about just uploading photos of famous pieces of art from this time period, then giving the students a space to write any relevant info regarding the paintings. Does anyone have any suggestions, or any formatives they have created for similar purposes by chance?

Hi @Corrine_Taylor! I am so happy that I have something to share with you. Last year, my 11th graders wanted a break after testing, so we did a brief lesson on Impressionism (since it fit into our lesson at the time). It isn’t an “art museum” tour, but I did use some pretty cool additions to make the formative visually appealing and interactive for the students. Let me know what you think

This has been helpful. Thank you or sharing. Not only did you share a great way to create a formative, you also helped me with ideas on how I can create a goformative for Art History.
Very helpful.

I’ve been to Saint-Petersburg 2 times and that was quite inspiring for students. Though we were exploring classical art. May anyone give us advice on more sightseeings to visit? We were on this tour: https://petersburg.expert/tour/one-day-shore-excursion/. Quite impressive.

Hey thats a really interesting way to use goformative! It would be nice to see how this turned out and see if you have the kids share with each other!
