Great point. Sometime we get fooled that the ‘right answers’ are great learning but in fact can just be a temporary uploading,downloading, and deleting to get a ‘reward’ that might not lead to deeper understanding.
In considering the types of questions that you develop, how do you balance unit content with critical content questions? Within your assessments, do you work to create specific questions based on Webb's DOK?
I agree with parents and even students wanting to know specifically what is on the assessments. I tell my students that if they continue to work on the objectives we discuss in class that they will do just fine. This is the part of providing 5th graders with independent activities and the teaching of ownership within their work.
