Identifying Text Structure

Created this Formative (nothing super exciting) for practice as we learn text structure. I have not seen anything on this subject, so I thought it might be useful to others.

Thank you a lot for that, @msashlylcot! You’ve given me a new idea.

Here is the HyperDoc (finally) to go with it. I have not done this lesson yet, but plan to in October. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B2cIeex9SHuMDmS7FzU0m3kBTEne58HAP8Nn97tOc7U/template/preview

I love the idea of Quizizz in the Formative. The visuals for the text structure is something I use too, so it is nice to remind them once they go to Formative. I also appreciate that all of the different examples are together. This gives the students the opportunity to really identify some of the characteristics and key words that belong to each structure.

Thank you! I am looking into hyperdocs, and this looks great!

Thanks I had to keep modifying the lesson as I went. I ended up ending it with the student getting into groups and presenting their findings on the board (text structure, purpose, and main ideas) and then lightened it up with Kahoot!

I think this is a great lesson fro students. It can also be one they come back to for review. I like that it is succinct and no frills! Thanks for sharing.
