Thanks for posting this! I tend to set up Formative activities and assessments that are solely short-answer responses, so this is a good reminder to myself to include some multiple-choice items as well. Some basic factual recall can help “prime the pump” for short-answer responses later in the Formative, and I can also give myself a break once in a while and have Formative score the answers for me! I hate coming up with distractors, though!

You and me both! Writing MC options is one of the hardest things to do well. I also like that MC reminds students to use everything available to them - sometimes the ‘distractors’ can remind you of a time/place/name for a short answer question. The students who do well on this formative are the ones who see it as a big picture, not so much individual questions.
