Graph question wording

“Your students will type equations on a piece of graph paper” doesn’t really describe what my students do with the Desmos type of question.
“Your students will type equations into a graphing calculator” or “into Desmos”?

Agree. Aside from the wording being inaccurate, there’s a lot to be desired with the pairing to Desmos here. I love formative, but I’ve had to resort to using a different site for assessing graphing. What is available in desmos through formative is just automated graphing. Students don’t have any opportunity to practice or learn. Your description is correct in that students will only ever type into a graphing calculator and be shown an automated graph.
